About the event
In this hands-on workshop, students will learn the fundamentals of metalsmithing while creating a sterling silver stone ring from start to finish. Participants will be guided through forming a ring band, fitting and soldering a bezel, setting a stone, and finishing their piece with sanding and polishing.
Each student will be provided with a sterling silver ring band, bezel wire, stone (with multiple stone options to choose from), and a back plate sized to fit the stone. No prior experience is necessary; all instruction and tools are provided in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment.
Allotted materials are included in the class cost. Students who wish to bring their own stone, work with a larger stone, or use additional sterling silver beyond what is included may do so for an additional charge, calculated per ounce at the current market price of silver on the day of class.
